PERRY PARK GOLF RESORT (502)484-5776
Kentucky Golf Course Review
Perry Park Golf Resort is a semi-private "Open to The Public" championship golf course located 45 minutes from Louisville. This is an eighteen hole par 72 layout with distances ranging from 4000 (from front tees) to 7240 yards (from the tips) with nine holes scheduled to open in July of 2007. This course is set up to challenge golfers of every skill level.
There are 5 sets of tees that play to distances and slopes measuring 7126 yards/132 slope, 6747 yards/128 slope, 6311 yards/124 slope, 5467 yards/117 slope for men, 123 for women and 4063 yards with a slope of 106 for women from the forward sets.
On course 100, 150 and 200 yard markers are posted on the cart paths with colored stakes adjacent from them on the fairways for par fours and fives. Tee boxes on the par threes include yardage plates which measure to the middle of all greens. Each golf cart includes a daily pin placement sheet with nine possible locations.
Bunkering is understated with 26 greenside bunkers and none near the fairways or in the landing areas off the tees. Golfers will find adequate challenge however in the topography itself, which is rolling and uneven, and in some cases tightly tree lined. There are numerous elevated tees and greens, and water hazards come into play on seven holes.
This is an enjoyable golf getaway with 70 rooms available in two hotels, a bed and breakfast and a house that can be rented out which sleeps 12. The clubhouse features a pro shop, locker rooms with showers, a pool right outside, and a restaurant next door. The practice facility includes a grass targeted driving range, short game area with sand bunker and a large putting green.
Perry Park Golf Resort is a highly recommended golf experience, and a great destination for golf outings, banquets, weddings, and business retreats. For more info, visit our detailed listing page for the course with a direct link to their website by clicking here.
